Yes, I proved the concept works!
RxNES did make NES games look new again!
However the project was started monthes BEFORE I learned anything about the NES Classic Edition.
Development has STOPPED and the last released version is not fully functional.
I started RxNES as a Personal Research Project, and then I made a website for it,
Without knowing that the NES CLASSIC EDITION was even an idea, I thought I was doing a good deed for humanity,
With other NES emulators being openly distributed online I thought I was within legal standing.
Now that the NES CLASSIC EDITION is in stores, I am not sure of where legalities stand.
I appologise to BOTH UNITY AND BIG N, I have a deep desire to play my favorite childhood games with todays graphics standards,
There was no way at the time to upgrade the graphics of all these old games, so I decided to try and do it myself.
I can only hope that old console manufacturers will come out with a similar product for updating their old games.
In short for future generations, YES THE RESEARCH PROJECT WAS SUCCESSFUL. ALL TESTING INDICATES THAT AT SOME TIME
THESE OLD GAMES AND OTHERS WILL BE ABLE TO BE UPDATED WITHOUT ACCESS TO THE ORIGINAL SOURCE CODE.
Research is Concluded, unless offical permission to continue is recieved by both Unity and Big N.
ALL APPOLOGIES :)
